The work of LeadingAge Kansas members seems to be paying off with Senator Marshall sharing that he plans to introduce a companion bill to H.R. 5796 Protecting Rural Seniors Access to Care Act. Co-sponsors for the bill include Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE), Jon Tester (D-MT), James Lankford (R-OK) and Roger Marshall (R-KS). The House and Senate bills aim to stop the finalization of the proposed CMS staffing standards rule and establish a workforce advisory group.  

Senator Marshall’s office reached out to LeadingAge Kansas asking for support from state associations, companies, and providers. The goal is to build a broad bipartisan group of Senate sponsors to introduce the measure. LeadingAge Kansas has completed the form in support of the measure, but members who are interested in submitting their individual support can do so here
