Effective July 1, The Cedars will formally affiliate with Bluestem Communities, a respected non-profit network of senior living campuses based in south-central Kansas. Bluestem Communities is known for its dedication to resident-centered care, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability – values that strongly align with our own.

This affiliation represents a strategic partnership between two mission-driven organizations. It is not a sale or acquisition, but a collaborative step forward designed to strengthen the services we provide and ensure long-term viability in an ever-evolving senior living landscape.

Key points to know:

  • The Cedars will retain its name, identity, and proud affiliation with the Church of the Brethren.
  • Our residents and staff will benefit from shared expertise, expanded support services, and operational efficiencies.
  • We will remain a continuous care community focused on serving seniors now and into the future, with the strength and support of a larger network behind us.

This affiliation allows us to better serve our residents, staff, and partners by expanding our capabilities while maintaining our unique culture and community presence. The Cedars will remain a local organization, with leadership continuity and a deep commitment to McPherson and the surrounding area.
