Kyle Whedon, Outpatient Therapy Site Coordinator and Occupational Therapist Assistant at Lakeview Village in Lenexa, received a scholarship in 2024 and in 2025 to help him pursue his bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management.
“My desire to help others and make a positive difference in people’s lives has driven my interest in careers that provide the opportunity to do that. It was through that desire that I became interested in senior care, which provided a sense of purpose and fulfillment in my career.
The most rewarding aspect of my work in senior care has been the gratitude I receive from the residents and families I serve. Those small daily interactions reinforce that I’m making the right decisions.
As I pursue my education further, I intend to continue growing within the rehabilitation field.
Education in Health Care Management will provide me with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and implement programs to enhance patient care delivery and support both patients and care teams in senior care environments.

We will be accepting applications for our scholarship program until June 1, 2026. We encourage you to share the opportunity with your team, and to provide support to any interested individuals throughout the process.
Who Can Apply: The scholarship is available to full or part-time employees that have been employed by your organization for at least one consecutive year, as of the application deadline. Individuals can apply and be awarded scholarships in multiple years.
Scholarship Uses: Scholarships funds can be used for any educational pursuit that increases the employee’s capacity to serve elders and support the organization.
