The state has published the proposed Medicaid rates for state fiscal year 2017. Due to the pending provider tax legislation, the proposed rate notice covers two scenarios.

One scenario covers the methodology that will be used if the current quality care assessment sunsets 6/30/16.  The second scenario covers the methodology that will be implemented if SB457 is enacted, without significant changes to the quality care assessment parameters included when the bill was introduced.  The second scenario also includes rebasing to 2013 – 2015 with inflation to 6/30/2016.  The outcome of the pending legislation will determine which scenario will be implemented in the Medicaid state plan KDADS and KDHE will submit to CMS on or before 9/30/16.
