Last month, new limited English proficiency (LEP) regulations went into effect for nursing facilities and other providers that accept Medicare/Medicaid. Under the new regulations, providers must take “reasonable steps to provide reasonable access” to LEP individuals, and be prepared to provide timely translation services when necessary.
