CMS Focused Surveys – MDS and Dementia – What We Have So Far and How Do We Prepare

This will be an informative session at the 2016 Survey & Regulations Workshop December 8th in Topeka, KS. Diane Atchinson will provide education and focus on the MDS survey process as well as discuss the dementia focused survey process. Policies and procedures, individualized care planning, focused staff orientation/education, behavior management and the use of antipsychotic medication will all be the touched on during this session.

A graduate of Wichita State University’s Math Education program, Addy is using her planning and organizational skills, creativity, and love of helping others to support our providers and members. First as Administrative Coordinator and now as Associate Director of Communications & Events, Addy’s primary duties include overseeing general member communications through social media, our Weekly Member Calls, the Aging Update, and database and website maintenance. She also collaborates with the team to plan, produce, and market events across all aspects of LeadingAge Kansas, manage Continuing Education processing.. Outside of the office, Addy enjoys crafting, playing board games, video games, and DnD, and spending time with her husband and their two cats.
