The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) issued its yearly Report to Congress on March 15, finalizing recommendations to reduce Medicare base payment rates for skilled nursing facility services by 3% for fiscal year 2025, to align aggregate payments more closely with aggregate costs. The March report includes payment recommendations for SNF, home health and hospice. It is important to note that MedPAC discussions and recommendations are just that. CMS and Congress are not obligated to act on the Commission’s recommendations.
