Bluestem PACE of McPherson, a nonprofit dedicated to helping seniors live well at home, will be hosting its 2nd annual 5K walk/run on Saturday, April 6 at 9 a.m. Those interested in registering for the PACE Race can do so at bluestempace.org/events.

“Bluestem PACE serves individuals 55 and better throughout central Kansas,” said Bluestem PACE executive director, Justin Loewen. “We are hoping this event will not just be McPherson-wide, but will attract runners and walkers from our region.”

The race will be fun for the whole family, featuring tastings from local coffee shops after the race. Race registration fees will go towards the Bluestem PACE Good Neighbor Fund. The fund assists program participants who encounter unforeseen circumstances and assists Bluestem PACE in providing high quality services to seniors and their families.

“The inaugural Bluestem PACE Race in 2018 was a fantastic event that I was glad to be a part of,” said local triathlete, Kevin Nickel. “It had everything from a first class event, including professional race production and timing, an easy to follow loop course, friendly volunteers, plus post-race awards and goodies. I am really looking forward to this year’s spring race and would highly recommend it”

Race sponsors include Art Shirt, Browns Shoe Fit Co., CHS Refinery, Culligan Water, Farmers Alliance, Graber’s Ace Hardware, Heartbeat Coffee, Hesston Bakery & Cafe, Home State Bank, Kansas Gas Service, Legacy Eyecare, McPherson Visitor and Convention Bureau, Prairie Landworks, The Well and Viega.
