Communication was a key topic at the Work Force Conference last week. Speakers and participants alike discussed the need to improve communication. But, how do you do it? TeamSTEPPS® is a proven method for doing just this and opportunities to learn it are coming your way! TeamSTEPPS® teaches adaptable and practical communication tools and strategies with goals that include:

  • Developing teams that communicate effectively and back each other up.
  • Producing highly effective teams that optimize the use of information, people, and resources to achieve the best outcomes.

Through a grant from the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services, train-the-trainer workshop are taking place in three locations. Teams attending will learn the TeamSTEPPS® tools & strategies, how to use the free curriculum to train others and develop a basic implementation plan for their organization. Trainers will also teach teams how the tools can be helpful in antipsychotic reduction efforts.
