A few provider members have shared issues with faxing Medicaid applications to KDHE, receiving a confirmation page, only to be told by KDHE the fax was never received through their server. KDHE Leadership has shared their fax system is currently experiencing issues and requires certain specifications to properly receive a fax. Since mailing can bring its own set of issues, KDHE recommended completing applications online in addition to the signature page being printed, signed by the resident or DPOA, scanned and uploaded, and submitted with the rest of the online packet.

For providers who already have a resident Medicaid application open in KDHE workflow, be sure to utilize the document upload portal. KDHE Leadership shares this is the best and most effective way to attach additional documentation to the file and receive timelier processing. Nursing facilities who have follow up questions should utilize their designated facility unit email box, but no application attachments should be sent via email. Any emails sent to the designated mailbox with a list of applications needing updates should be encrypted or in a password protected file.
