On December 5th, Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) led the introduction of the Protecting Rural Seniors’ Access to Care Act, which would prohibit CMS from implementing the federal minimum staffing rule and instead convene a workforce advisory committee.  Sen. Fischer gave a speech on the Senate floor on December 1st, criticizing CMS’s proposed nursing home staffing mandate. The bill she introduced is the companion to H.R. 5796, a bill introduced by Rep. Michelle Fischbach (R-MN) on September 29th.
