Lakeview Village continues to make capital improvements to its 100-acre community in Lenexa, Kansas. They recently renovated the dining room and lower level community spaces at Northpointe, an attractive, five-story apartment building overlooking the three-acre lake. The nearly $250,000 renovation is just the start of improvements planned at Northpointe, with a remodel of the lobby planned for 2018.

The project follows an $83,000 facelift of the dining room at Heritage Place, the first apartment building constructed at Lakeview Village. Today, Heritage Place is home to independent living apartments and administrative offices.

The dining room at Heritage Place isn’t the only major renovation planned for the building. The Lakeview Village Foundation launched a capital campaign this fall to help fund remodeling of the Heritage Activity Center, the hub of many of Lakeview Village’s social activities. The Foundation hopes to raise $1 million for the project, which will include the installation of a hearing loop paid for with a grant from the George H. Nettleton Foundation. Hearing loops allow hearing aids to serve as wireless loudspeakers, delivering clear, customized sound from inside their ears. The loop magnetically transmits sounds directly to hearing aids and cochlear implants.
