Hats off to the good leaders of Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg for inviting their state legislators out recently!  Senators Elaine Bowers, Rick Billinger and Representative Ken Rhajes showed up to visit with everyone and tour the campus and see their great renovation and expansion project.

“They all seemed extremely excited and supportive about rural areas showing interest and creativity in the aging world. Senator Bowers was inquisitive about our operations… staff, residents, and community engagement. We spoke about the reinstatement of the Medicaid cuts as well as the backlog. Both Ken and Elaine said if anyone in the district has trouble with backlog, to call them. They have both been successful in getting Medicaid approval to go through,” said Nate Glendening, Administrator.

HAVE YOU HAD YOUR LEGISLATORS OUT YET?  It is extremely important for all LeadingAge Kansas members to do so before the legislators head to Topeka on January 9th.  And don’t forget to send us us your story and pictures so we can add you to our advocacy wall of fame!
