As an active member of LeadingAge, senior living communities like Larksfield Place are called on by Carol Silver Elliott, LeadingAge board of directors chair, to share the positive stories of life in our senior living community during this COVID-19 pandemic. There IS good happening in our communities. Nursing homes need support, not blame. You all are working very hard to keep our residents and staff COVID FREE, provide care, obtain supplies, continue transparency and keep everyone informed. We are standing proud and making the best of these uncertain times.

The media is not telling the stories of the staff who are making virtual visits between elders and their loved ones possible or helping families decorate health care windows; or the dining staff working their tails off adjusting to new precautions and massive numbers of daily food deliveries (that would impress even the finest hotels or restaurants). We do it because we are a mission-driven organization and we do our best to meet and exceed resident expectations every day. We make resident care our #1 priority and still have FUN.

I am so proud of the work that we are all doing, of the ways in which we are supporting one another and keeping our spirits up. We do have FUN and we are HAPPY.

In honor of Employee Appreciation Week, We are proud to share this video of “Life at Larksfield…”  You’re the BEST!
