The Rural Health Care Program, created by the Telecommunications Act of 1996, includes the new Healthcare Connect Fund.  It provides funding to eligible health care providers (HCPs), now including nonprofit skilled nursing facilities, for telecommunications and broadband services necessary for the provision of health care. Funding for the Rural Health Care Program is capped at $400 million annually.  All eligible SNFs can make application for discounted broadband expenses; at any time during the Funding Year (defined to be from July 1st through June 30th of each year). The best guarantee of receiving funding is to submit your requests during the September 1st November 30th filing window period.
