The LKS Workforce Commission met last month to discuss progress on work relating to their strategic plan. A few of the highlights that were presented include:

  1. LeadingAge Kansas is working on developing a sub-category of associate membership for post-secondary educational institutions. The goal is to connect them with information about what is going on in Aging Services and with our members.
  2. Wage disparity research is being conducted by the Kansas Health Institute for LeadingAge Kansas to identify the disparity in wages between acute and long-term care.
  3. LeadingAge Kansas will be convening a workgroup to review and make recommendations for changes to the CNA curriculum this fall.
  4. LeadingAge Kansas is in the testing phase of a new section of our website devoted entirely to workforce. It should go live in the next couple of weeks.
  5. The group received a tour of the new LeadingAge National Center for Workforce Solutions website.
