The LKS Workforce Commission met last month to discuss progress on work relating to their strategic plan. A few of the highlights that were presented include:
- LeadingAge Kansas is working on developing a sub-category of associate membership for post-secondary educational institutions. The goal is to connect them with information about what is going on in Aging Services and with our members.
- Wage disparity research is being conducted by the Kansas Health Institute for LeadingAge Kansas to identify the disparity in wages between acute and long-term care.
- LeadingAge Kansas will be convening a workgroup to review and make recommendations for changes to the CNA curriculum this fall.
- LeadingAge Kansas is in the testing phase of a new section of our website devoted entirely to workforce. It should go live in the next couple of weeks.
- The group received a tour of the new LeadingAge National Center for Workforce Solutions website.
