In a recent Harvard Business Review Article, David Novack talks about how a health system recognized his Oncologist for her 40+ years of saving lives.  They sent her a plastic keychain which was clearly an item that HR checked off a list.  40 years as an Oncologist calls for more than a keychain.

According to Novack, we need to recognize the tremendous value people bring to their work, regardless of their role in the organization. Recognition isn’t just about implementing employee programs to check them off a list; it’s about bringing out the best in people and improving your company’s bottom line.

Many of our members do a great job at this and we would like to showcase what you do in an upcoming blog post for Workforce News.  Send your information to dana@leadingagekansas.org and I will showcase you and help share best practices in this area.
