On November 27th, the Commonwealth Fund released a new issue brief outlining policy options to support family giving for Medicare beneficiaries. The issue brief, “Policy Options to Support Family Caregiving for Medicare Beneficiaries at Home,” is based on interviews with experts in health and aging policy (including many at LeadingAge), held focus groups, and surveys of 1,000 family caregivers.

Their recommendations include increasing in-home services and supports for family caregivers, providing financial support for caregivers, expanding resources and navigation tools for them, and conducting research on advancing equity, alleviating caregiver burden, and reducing disparities in access to home-based services.
