This month our dietary staff is starting to do a fun project for our residents here at the Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community. Eric Beye Our dietary manager has different themes that the dietary department will be picking to do for our residents. This month’s theme was the alphabet letter B. So everything on the menu started with the letter B. Not only did we serve food according to the letter B we also played music from the Beach Boys over their dinner hour. Then in the afternoon we watched the movie Beach Blanket Bingo. So all in all it turned out to be an awesome lunch time for everyone!!!
The menu was as follows.
- Salad: Blue Lagoon Salad, or Bartlett Pear Salad
- Soup: Borscht
- Entree: Bierocks, or Beef Parmesan
- Sides: Baked Potatoes
- Vegetable: Broccoli with Cheese or Butter Beans
- Bread: Bubble Bread with Butter
- Dessert: Blueberry Bread Pudding with whipped cream
The activity department also set the tables with decorations that happened to start with the letter B. The meal was fantastic, and our residents all had a great time. The dietary staff plan on doing this type of meal once a month. We cannot wait to see what next month’s menu will look like.
