The final coffee chats wrapped up at the beginning of this week. There were 28 policymakers or policy staff and 46 members in attendance at the seven sessions held between October 16th and November 14th. Items discussed centered around the federally proposed minimum staffing rule, workforce issues, staffing agency regulations in Kansas, and Medicaid reimbursement.

From these coffee chats, we have seen legislators submit their own comments, letters, or seen additional press coverage on the minimum staffing rule. There is an article in the Salina Post Representative Howe submitted after attending the Central region coffee chat, and a press release Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America submitted to KFDI

For those who attended, make sure to take the survey and offer feedback on how we can improve this grassroot effort year after year.
