The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has posted its October 2016 update to the List of Excluded Individuals/Entities. An archive of updates from prior months are now available.

All members who participate in Medicare or Medicaid programs are prohibited from employing or contracting with a person or vendor listed on the OIG exclusion list, and should take the time to review these lists each month.

If an excluded individual provides services that are billed to Medicare or Medicaid, the OIG may bring an enforcement action that results in a repayment obligation reaching tens of thousands of dollars.
