We had a great time last Thursday at our first virtual Hands-On Caregiver mini conference! Over 100 caregivers joined us representing more than 15 buildings and 3 states! Attendees were able to actively participate and show their learning by engaging with an interactive Kahoot! throughout the sessions.

Thank you so much to our incredible speakers:

  • Hollie Lowe with the James L. West Center for Dementia Care who taught us about effective and caring strategies for communicating with residents with dementia,
  • Treva Greaser with Treva Greaser Consulting who shared tips and best practices for improving how and what we document,
  • Amy Hensley with Before the Casket who helped us get comfortable with how residents might transition to hospice care, and
  • Karen Sturchio with Oxford Senior Living who inspired and reminded us that Leadership is more than just a title.

We added a little extra celebration and recognition of our frontline caregivers throughout the day, by doing multiple random drawings for attendees to win a gift card of their choice. Congratulations to the following gift card winners:

  1. Trinitie Baker, Lincoln Park Manor
  1. Misty Reed, Hill Top House
  1. Amanda Howg, Lincoln Park Manor
  1. Amanda Conroy, Hill Top House
  1. Barbara Harrison, Homestead Health Center
  1. Sylvia Smith, The Nicol Home
  1. Taylor Thornhill, Lincoln Park Manor

One final THANK YOU to everyone who participated and made this training a success for our frontline caregivers. We can’t wait to see you again next year!
