In a May 2 letter, LeadingAge president and CEO Katie Smith Sloan expressed deep dismay and concern over the Administration’s mischaracterization of nursing homes and continued inflammatory comments regarding the quality of care provided by nursing homes. The letter calls out recent comments by Vice President Kamala Harris made concurrent with the release of the new nursing home staffing mandate final rule.

In the letter, LeadingAge asks for partnership instead of disparagement and for constructive dialogue and collaboration to potential policy solutions. We hope the Administration will work with policy makers and providers to expand the aging services workforce.
