We know you have heard about the Center for Leadership and might consider applying if you knew more. Here are a few FAQs to help you along.

Q: What is the Center for Leadership?
A: The Center for Leadership is an immersive leadership program designed to help individuals understand leadership, innovation, and advocacy. Participants must apply to be accepted into the program. You will gain practical tools that can be practiced after the very first meeting.

Q: How much time will I spend participating in the CFL?
A: There are four 2-day, in-person sessions as well as 7-10 zoom meetings in the months that do not have in-person meetings scheduled. There is required reading material and a project required for the program. Depending on how much time you put into the program, you can spend between 60 and 100 hours from September 2022 to July 2023.

Q: How much does the Program Cost?
A: The program costs $1,800 for the entire year. The cost includes most meals for the 4 in-person meetings, technology platforms, facilitator and guest speaker time, meeting location rental, textbooks and other learning material and much more.

Q: Are scholarships available for the program?
A: Yes. Due to a special gift from Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America, scholarships are available to anyone who asks on a sliding scale based upon need. PMMA doesn’t want cost to be a barrier to growing future leaders in Kansas. (Thank you PMMA!)

Q: What are the dates for the in-person sessions?
A:  The dates and approximate locations are:

  • November 2 & 3, 2022 in Wichita
  • January 25 & 26, 2022 in Topeka
  • April 26 & 27, 2023 Location TBD
  • July 26 & 27, 2023 in Lawrence

Q: I would like to send several staff through the program. Is there a limit to participation from one member?
A: Yes. We cap the number of individual from one member organization to 3 in order for everyone to be in a different coaching group and feel comfortable sharing the learning that is happening within them.
