LEADINGAGE KANSAS UPDATES

  • COVID-19 in the Membership – A worker at a Member LPC (CCRC) presented late last week with a mild sore throat. She was found to be positive for COVID-19. Another staff member reported a positive test later that day. Tests were conducted on everyone who could have possibly been an intermediary and those came back negative, meaning they got it separately in the broader community. With the help of the local health department and KDHE, the community has tested 300 nursing home and independent living staff and residents so far. All residents have come back negative. 15 staff results are pending, but the rest of the staff were negative. The member reports that nearly 500 hours of staff time were expended in the first 2 days.
  • Member in the News: Johnson County nursing home didn’t know it had COVID cluster. Until it tested everyone.
  • LeadingAge Kansas, KHCA and KACE are conducting PPE survey.  Please take the survey at  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/X6HZ8LW by COB June 5th
