The Center for Leadership is a year-long leadership intensive for individuals working in LeadingAge Kansas member organizations. The participants are chosen through a competitive application process and demonstrate a desire to grow their leadership knowledge in aging services. After completion of the program, they are designated Kansas Fellows and are becoming excellent leaders in our field across the state. The program is 100% member-led with a LeadingAge Kansas staff liaison.
The goal of the Center for Leadership is to grow leaders in aging services in Kansas. Many of our graduates have gone on to take executive roles in their own organization or elsewhere in the field. Most graduates report experiencing a significant change in both their personal and professional lives as a result of the program.
Each class meets 4 times a year in October, January, March and July with the following topics:
- Discovering Your Authentic Leadership: To understand ourselves so we can better lead others
- Leading Through Advocacy and Community Relationships: To understand trust in advocacy and community building
- Leading Change: To explore our potential as change agents in our organizations and in the field of aging services
- Leading Empowering and Motivating: To uncover what motivates us and others and learn how to build successful teams
The cost is $1,999 for the program and it covers all of the books, speakers, tools, resources and some meals for 4 in-person meetings and 6 coaches teleconferences. It also guarantees a complimentary registration to our Spring and Fall Conferences. Due to our generous sponsors, Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America and BKD, we have a limited number of scholarships that are available to offset the costs. Payment options are also available. Please note: The LeadingAge Kansas Foundation Scholarship Program cannot be used to offset the cost of this program.
