Maximus, the Statewide HCBS Assessing Organization for the PACE program and the Brain Injury, Frail Elderly and Physical Disability Waivers, is making enhancements to its main phone line (785.268.3600) to better support individuals who contact the Help Desk. On May 192026, new call options will be introduced that will allow Maximus Help Desk staff to more effectively assist callers and address their needs.

This will include the following choices for individuals to select:

  • Option 1 for scheduling, canceling or rescheduling an assessment
  • Option 2 for checking on the status of the functional eligibility assessment
  • Note: individuals will be prompted at the beginning of the call to hang up and contact KanCare at 1.800.792.4884 if they are looking for an update on the status of their KanCare application.
  • Option 0 for all other inquiries and to speak with a live agent

This change will adjust the after-hours voicemail and also implement a brief post-call survey to help Maximus track and improve the caller experience. It is anticipated these changes will more appropriately route callers and set clearer expectations for how the program may assist them.

Voicemail will still be available after hours and on weekends, which provides callers the option to email Maximus or leave a message with the nature of their request.

If you have any questions about this change, please contact Maximus at 785.268.3600 or ask-kshbcs@maximus.com
