Bluestem PACE of McPherson, a nonprofit dedicated to helping seniors live well at home, will be hosting its 3rd annual 5K walk/run on Saturday, March 28th at 9 AM. Those interested in registering for the PACE Race can do so at bluestempace.org/events.

“Bluestem PACE serves individuals 55 and better throughout central Kansas,” said Justin Loewen, the program’s executive director. “We are hoping this event will not just be McPherson-wide, but will attract runners and walkers from the surrounding communities as well.”

The race will be fun for the whole family, featuring tastings from local coffee shops after the race. Race registration fees will go towards the Bluestem PACE Good Neighbor Fund. The fund assists program participants who encounter unforeseen circumstances and assists Bluestem PACE in providing high quality services to seniors and their families.

“The Bluestem PACE Race is everything you want in a local 5K. I am personally really looking forward to being back in 2020 to see the friends I’ve made from past years and also attempt to get my title back,” said Kevin Nickel, a world champion triathlete who has participated in the race each year. “The PACE Race is an extremely well organized event that provides a top notch participant experience and I highly recommend it.”

Race sponsorship options are still available. Contact Derek Yoder at dereky@bluestemks.org for more information about becoming a sponsor.
