A Week of Networking

The Kansas Society of Association Executives (KSAE) held a legislative reception at the Celtic Fox on Monday, giving the Government Affairs team time to meet with fellow association executives and legislators alike. Later in the week, the LeadingAge Kansas Center for Leadership fellows descended on the Kansas Capitol to meet with their legislators, learn the ins and outs of the legislative process, and hone their advocacy and leadership skills.

Last week we shared the legislature pushed out their tax bill to Governor Kelly. As of today, she has just a few more days to respond or the bill will become law without signature. In other news, KDADS provided testimony their contact nursing staff costs were expected to be around $60 million for FY2024. We are committed to addressing these rising contact staffing costs and will continue to meet with legislators to discuss this issue.
