KS LTC Surge Capacity Survey

KDADS is reaching out to providers that indicated on last week’s LTC Surge Capacity Survey that they plan to set up 1) separate offsite Alternate Care Sites or 2) designated wings/units within their existing nursing home for COVID-19 care. The information will help KDADS get a better understanding of how nursing homes are planning for COVID-10 care within their licensed capacity, using spaces in their buildings that are not typical resident rooms, and establishing entirely separate alternate care sites outside the nursing home.  Ultimately, the information will help the Kansas Department of Emergency Management know locations where there may be availability for COVID-19 care during a surge.

The LTC Surge Capacity Survey was deployed by LeadingAge Kansas, KHCA and KACE last week. There were 107 respondents.  Here is a high level snapshot of responses:
