AGE-u-cate Training Institute® applied for a grant awarded by CMS regional office under the Civil Monetary Penalty Fund to bring their programs Compassionate Touch® and Dementia Live® to Kansas Skilled Nursing Facilities. Compassionate Touch supports nursing home efforts to improve the quality of life and well-being for nursing homes residents by training all employees on techniques that integrate expressive touch back into the care of older adults.

Dementia Live® is a high impact, dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia, resulting in a deeper understanding of what it’s like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory change.
