After passage by the 2018 legislature, Kansas has joined the Nurse Licensure Compact. This means that Kansas nurses will be able to obtain a multi-state license that allows them to practice in the other 28 other states that are currently members of the compact. And of course, nurses from those other 28 states will also be able to practice in Kansas without obtaining a separate Kansas license.

The Kansas State Board of Nursing will start issuing multi-state licenses on July 1, 2019.
