KDADS officials are indicating that the new Medicaid Nursing Facility Rates, effective July 1, will be substantially rebased to the average of each provider’s 2015, 2016 and 2017 costs.  (The Legislature appropriated, and Governor approved, $39.8 M of the $44 M that would be required for a full rebase.) Rates will increase for the vast majority of LeadingAge Kansas nursing homes. Those that do not increase are due to decreased CMI and/or decreased costs in 2015-17. Final rates will be published in the June 21 Kansas Register June 21. Providers will be notified of their rates very shortly before that.
