During this year’s legislative session, Oral Health Kansas advocated to extend Medicaid coverage to include dentures and partials. As the policy language was being developed, Oral Health Kansas asked for additional stakeholder feedback and support as the policy did not extend coverage to additional services such as repairs, adjustments, and relines. A major concern was health and speech problems that can occur with ill-fitting dentures. LeadingAge Kansas joined a stakeholder paper outlining why the additional benefits were needed and the requests were successfully added. The benefit will go into effect on July 1st.
