Do me a favor and take a moment to consider why you haven’t applied for our program yet. Is it because you don’t think you need leadership training? Is it because the cost is too high? Is it because you are just now learning about it?  I have an answer for each of those reasons.  See below:

I don’t need any more leadership training.
I would argue you do. Hear me out. The Center for Leadership is not just leadership training – it’s a life changing experience. This program allows you the opportunity to step out of your busy work life for a short time to really dive into what you already know about leadership and widen your treasure trove of tools and understanding about what makes people tick. Additionally, you will gain a new network of individuals that will pay dividends in the future. This program is for you.

It costs too much.
We have a scholarship program. In the application, simply check the box that you need a scholarship and provide the reason why. We have a generous sponsor, Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. They genuinely want to support individuals to gain additional leadership training and want to take the cost barrier away from potential applicants.  You can afford it.

I just found out about it. How do I apply?
This is your lucky day!  The application process provides insight into what you will learn through the program.  We ask you to answer the following questions:

  1. Describe the capacities that you think you possess that make you an effective formal or informal leader and the specific ways in which you have utilized these attributes in your personal and professional life. In doing so, please refer to a significant achievement, your specific role in attaining that achievement and the impact it had on the organization involved.
  2. Describe the perspective and knowledge you hope to acquire as a result of your participation in Center for Leadership.
  3. Describe your personal commitment to aging services in Kansas, share your journey in the field and illustrate your vision for the future of aging services.
  4. Please provide a brief summary description of experience in aging services and your current position including any defining characteristics that make your company/organization unique.
  5. What do you hope to gain from this program?
