Locust Grove Village recently wrapped up Older Americans Month with an Outdoor Ice Cream Social and Special Concert. The event held on May 26 featured the music of The Derrieres, Roger & Leo Eilts.  After a long week of wind and cool weather, the evening turned off beautiful and a large crowd came out to enjoy homemade cakes furnished by family members and delicious flavored ice creams.  The Outdoor Social culminates a month of special events and celebrations, including an employee recognition barbeque, donuts in the park with Kids Corner, and Cinco de Mayo.  Every May, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads the celebration of Older Americans month and this year’s theme was “Age My Way”.  Just as every person is unique, so too is how they age and how they choose to do it – and there is no “right” way.  Locust Grove Village is located in La Crosse, KS and provides independent living apartment living, assisted living and skilled nursing services.
