This summer, we are spotlighting the passionate, strategic, and dedicated individuals who guide LeadingAge Kansas, KING, EBI, and our Foundation to service and success.
With 20 years of experience in aging services, Michael currently serves as the CFO & Chief Strategy Officer for Larksfield Place in Wichita, and sits as Chair-Elect on the LeadingAge Kansas Board of Directors.
What keeps Michael excited about serving seniors?
Opportunity to create an environment where both residents and team members can thrive. As a leader, I have the privilege of shaping a culture of compassion, respect, and excellence in care. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how investing in staff development, teamwork, and resident-centered service directly improves the quality of life for seniors. Knowing that the decisions I make can positively impact residents, their families, and the employees who care for them gives me a strong sense of purpose every day.
What does Michael enjoy most about serving on our board?
What I enjoy most about serving on the LeadingAge Kansas Board is the opportunity to help shape the future of aging services across our state. It allows me to collaborate with other leaders who are passionate about improving the lives of older adults and strengthening the organizations that serve them. I value the chance to share ideas, advocate for policies that support seniors and providers, and contribute to solutions for the challenges facing our industry. It’s rewarding to know that the work we do at the board level can have a positive impact not only on today’s seniors but also on future generations who will rely on these services.

A fun fact about me is that I started my career in service as a combat medic in the Army. Looking back, that experience sparked a passion for helping people that eventually led me to aging services. Outside of work, my wife and I enjoy golfing together whenever we get the chance. It’s a great way to recharge, and she’s not afraid to remind me when her score is better than mine!
