Register today for a TeamSTEPPS® Regional Train-the-Trainer workshop. This evidence-based teamwork system is designed to promote safety, quality and efficiency. It teaches adaptable, practical and easy to implement techniques and tools for communication. Faculty from the Washburn University School of Nursing will facilitate the workshops. Those attending will

  • Be able to demonstrate the use of TeamSTEPPS® tools and strategies
  • Create a basic plan for implementing TeamSTEPPS® in their organization
  • Learn how to utilize the TeamSTEPPS® curriculum to train others
  • Be able to describe specific tools and strategies useful for AP reduction

An interdisciplinary team is encouraged. Those attending will become TeamSTEPPS® Master Trainers equipped to teach the curriculum in your organization. It pays to bring a team. Register a team of up to five for $50 or an individual for $25.

The workshops are supported by a grant from the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services and are open to all Kansas nursing homes and long-term care units.

Stephanie Gfeller, MS, LACHA is the Director of Education and Leadership. Stephanie joined the association in 2019 and oversees the development of our education programs, writes and manages all of our federal grant programs, and leads our Center for Leadership program. With her master’s degree in Gerontology from Kansas State University, adult care home administrator license, experience as a researcher and instructor at the K State Center on Aging, and endless creativity, Stephanie is ideally suited to her leadership role in our field. Outside of work Stephanie enjoys reading, supporting her kids at all their activities, serving as a 4-H club leader, and being outside helping on her family farm.
