KDADS is finalizing the necessary legal agreements and funds will start to be transferred from KDADS to the MCOs next week. Each agency has been assigned to an MCO for payout. Be on the lookout for further information from the MCO that is assigned to you. Below are some additional FAQs regarding the Bonus Program.

Fund Disbursement FAQs

  1. Is there a timeline for fund disbursement?
    • After the MCOs receive the funds, they have up-to of 60 days to disburse it, though payments to providers may go out much sooner than that.  MCOs have 60 days in case we have continued issues with SAM.gov that would be outside of the MCOs control.
  2. Will the funds come from each of the MCOs?
    • Each provider will get one disbursement from their assigned MCO. The disbursement will include the total sum allocated.
  3. Is there a schedule established for the distribution of funds?
    • The provider will have flexibility on the timing of the bonuses to direct service workers. All funds must be spent by March 30, 2023.
  4. Will all providers receive their funds at the same time, same day?  Or could some get theirs sooner than others?
    • We expect that providers assigned to the same MCO will receive their funds at approximately the same time and that the three MCOs will make their disbursements within a similar timeframe, though there may be time differences.
  5. What should we do if we are still having issues with SAM.gov
    • Please continue to provide updates on your status to KDADS.Worforce@ks.gov
    • Your organization must have an active “entity registration” with the Federal System of Award Management (SAM or SAM.gov).

Bonus Payout Questions

  • Is the bonus amount up to the discretion of the provider? For example, using $1,700 for retention and reallocating more dollars to the recruiting bonuses? Do we need to abide by the $2,000, $1,500, and $750 thresholds listed in the beneficiary agreement?
    • The bonus thresholds listed are guidelines. The bonus amounts may be adjusted per the needs of the provider to maximize usage for the recruitment and retention needs of each respective agency.
