Aetna Better Health of Kansas, Inc. will be a new KanCare MCO beginning January 1, 2019.
Sunflower State Health Plan, Inc and United Healthcare, Midwest, Inc. will continue services for Kansas providers and members alike.

Per KDADS, the new MCO contracts will offer many key improvements including:

  • Greater Oversight
  • Improved Response times
  • Enhanced Care Coordination
  • A supported employment pilot for persons with disabilities and behavioral health needs
  • New value-added benefits

Sunflower and United will continue business as usual. Aetna will begin outreach to members and providers very soon. Aetna has set up an email inbox for provider specific questions.

Addy Mead is our Administrative Coordinator. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Wichita State University’s Math Education program, Addy is using her planning and organizational skills, creativity, and love of helping others to support our providers and members. As Administrative Coordinator, Addy’s primary duties include overseeing general member communications through social media, our Weekly Member Calls, the Aging Update, and database and website maintenance. She also collaborates with Stephanie and Nicole to plan, produce, and market professional development events, manage Continuing Education processing, as well as assisting with office administration activities.
