Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) sent a letter to Shalanda Young, Director of the Office of Management and Budget on June 16th, explicitly discussing the dire workforce shortages in long-term care provider organizations, particularly those in rural areas. He said a blanket staffing would not work for every provider, a point LeadingAge makes in our Get Real Ratios campaign – one size does not fit all. He recommends that OMB not “further exacerbate the serious challenges already facing facilities in rural America.”
