This summer, we are spotlighting the passionate, strategic, and dedicated individuals who guide LeadingAge Kansas, KING, EBI, and our Foundation to service and success.

Currently Chief of Staff at Bluestem Communities, Tonya has been involved with aging services for 10 years. She joined the LeadingAge Kansas Board of Directors in spring of 2026.

What keeps Tonya excited about serving seniors?

Their perspectives – their life experiences give them a real wisdom and knack for knowing what to take seriously and what doesn’t matter. I love their humor.

What does Tonya enjoy about serving on a board?

Knowing we are making a difference for our members.

Tonya would like members to know:

My first job was at our local pharmacy and many of our customers were elders who returned regularly for med refills. I developed relationships with them and they became important people to me. I’m lucky to have fallen in love with this demographic so early on in life.
