Researchers at the University of Kansas Medical Center are inviting nursing homes to participate in a National Institute on Aging supported study testing the “Changing Talk: Online Training” (CHATO) for staff who work with individuals who have dementia. The goal of CHATO is to increase awareness of the importance of effective communication with older adults with dementia who live in nursing homes.

The training program is three hours and fifteen minutes long, split into three modules. The evaluation is approximately fifteen minutes. Upon completion of the three modules and the evaluation, with at least a 70% on a post-test, participants will receive a certificate of completion (three nursing contact hours).
