Legislators will come together for an all-day meeting on Friday, February 2nd to hear feedback from stakeholders on KanCare and other healthcare related issues. Testimony will be written only since the agenda is packed full of presentations on the Mental Health Intervention Team (MHIT) Program, Overview of Medicaid Program Expenditures, an update from the KanCare Ombudsman, an update from the Office of Medicaid Inspector General, KDHE updates, KDADS updates, and MCOs updates.
LeadingAge Kansas plans to submit testimony outlining ongoing concerns with long-term care Medicaid application delays, a lack of communication means with KDHE, and delayed mailings. We’ll also cover the increase in staffing agency costs since 2020. If you have any other concerns or issues you’d like addressed by this committee, send them to Kylee Childs by 10:00 AM Thursday, January 25th.
