CDC has new resources to assist nursing homes with implementation of enhanced barrier precautions. Recall that enhanced barrier precautions are an accepted standard of care, referenced by CMS in the updated RoPs guidance on infection control effective October 2022, that may be implemented in the nursing home to protect residents from the threat of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs).
