Bluestem Communities will soon launch its newest service for the community with the new Bluestem Therapy addition at Kidron Bethel Village. Bluestem therapy will provide a variety of therapy needs to both Kidron Bethel residents and the wider community, and be the only therapy provider on the north end of the city of Newton.

A chance for the community to get a glimpse of the new space and be introduced to therapists is being planned through a virtual grand opening event on February 18th.

Through a contract with Genesis Rehab Services, a national leader in the long-term care rehabilitation industry, Bluestem Therapy will provide outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy services for all ages, as well as more specialized therapies for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease and lymphedema.

“We are excited to partner with Genesis to offer a broader range of services for the entire Newton and North Newton community as well as the wider area,” said Linda Peters, Kidron Bethel Village executive director. “This therapy expansion enables us to serve the community with adequate space and equipment. The Bluestem Wellness Center being just steps away gives us an additional resource.”

The Genesis approach to therapy is unique to most post-acute settings. It features a cohesive, interdisciplinary rehabilitation team that works together through physical, occupational and speech rehab needs as necessary to reach and maintain maximum patient potential.

The location of the Bluestem Therapy addition at Kidron Bethel Village is near the campus’s wellness center, which includes a fitness room and swimming pool. Patients of Bluestem Therapy will have access to the Wellness Center features to assist in their physical therapy treatment and ongoing health and wellness.

“This beautiful and modern new therapy space helps us live our mission of promoting lifelong wellness and genuine connection by networking more purposefully in the community,” said Peters.
