NHSN sent an email blast on February 12th notifying users that a system upgrade will take the application offline Friday, February 23rd, through Sunday, February 25th. This means that NHSN users will be unable to submit any data through the system during that time period. Recognizing that nursing homes are required to submit data weekly by 11:59 PM on Sundays, CMS will suspend enforcement for the reporting week of February 19 – 25. However, recall that this data is used cumulatively, so reporting should be submitted for the week as soon as possible following return of system capabilities on Monday, February 26th. Any issues with NHSN including logging in following the system upgrade should be reported through the NHSN ServiceNow portal
