On February 9th, CMS posted updates to a number of hospice quality reporting program (HQRP) manuals and fact sheets. The HQRP manual updates were primarily to incorporate changes in terminology, referencing the Consensus-based Entity, or CBE, instead of the National Quality Forum which formally held the contract to support quality measure review and recommendation for CMS. The Hospice Item Set (HIS) includes the same updates as well as changes to the Annual Payment Update from 2% to 4%, removal of a section referring to COVID-19 reporting delays and updating reference dates to be more current.
