CMS is sending out notices reminding Medicare providers that certain documentation must be included with the submission of the cost report, or the report could be rejected causing a loss of revenue.  These items are:

  • GME/IME Interns and Residents documentation
  • Medicare bad debts
  • DSH Medicaid Eligible Days
  • S019 Charity Care amounts
  • Home Office Costs.

The documentation needs to detail these amounts listed on the cost report. You may want to ask your cost report preparer if they are aware of these changes.
